/just to be alive/ Opening Reception

“it is a serious thing / just to be alive / on this fresh morning / in this broken world” - Mary Oliver

At 1628, we devote our spring art exhibition to representing female artists. The body of work that we have selected for the 2019 Spring exhibition features the artwork of twenty local female-identifying artists. The exhibit features painting, collage, photography, sculpture, fiber art and other mediums in between. Each artwork speaks individually, forming a collective narrative celebration of the resilience of the female spirit. We hope you'll join us to experience the opening reception of /just to be alive/: An Exhibition of the Contemporary Female Artist.

Featuring Artwork by artists Erika Nj Allen, Meggie Bailey, Ellina Chetverikova, Kristine Donnelly, Maria D’Souza, Tracey Ellis-Haynes, Tracy Featherstone, Kim Flora, Celene Hawkins, Heather Jones, Natalie Kahn, Lori Larusso, Anissa Lewis, Mychaelyn Michalec, Allison Rosh, Krista Sheneman, Claire Talbot,Tina Tammaro, Kim Taylor, and Loraine Wible.
